comeing home from my work the other night my alternatorlight went on and then my hold button flashes and the speedometer went out all on the same ride home i fixed my alternator and that is fine now but the hold still flashes and i have no speedometer i have read alot of posts about the subject and can only find one about this same problem but with no answer to what is causing this i know the two probably go hand to hand so can any one help and were is the speedometer cable i have 93mx3 1.6 very frustrating iam taking my car to mazda on tuesday to have the electric seatbelt fixed from the recall but would like to have an idiea to this problem before i go there and ask them cant aford to get riped off from mazda plez help. ps sorry this is so long

your speedo cable if you have a manual transmition. is on the back of the tranny (towards the firewall) its basically to the right and behind the the throttle body and intake tube but down. your best bet is to check the online manual.
