oil troubles

i just replaced a head gasket. now the oil is a light cream color......what did i do?!? it sealded nicely, and i know its not coolant cause i havent put any in yet, i just started it to make sure it worked. please help. :(

im assuming some of the coolant got into the block when i had the head off. thats my only logical explanation. what do i need to do to clear this up.

If thats the case, change the oil and check for coolant again?

you may have to change the oil more than once if a lot of coolant got in there. Change it, drive it for a while, change it again. Blow head gaskets are a b-otch!
93SE-KLDE Theres a big peice of metal inside my other peice of metal now...weird???
