Ok, I'll help. First it is imposible to know if a turbo is still good just by looking into a picture. You have to see it personaly to have a good judgment of the conditions. There is to many critical parts in a turbo to see it in a picture. so you will have to make a desicion to take the risk or find a friend that knows about turbos and ask him to go with you to look at the turbo.

what i would do if i were you, is i would buy it and use the turbo wiring harness and ecu, and anything else that you can salvage.

if the car smokes really bad (blue smoke) and when the turbo spools then it will probably need to be rebuilt. also pull off the intake hoses and if their full of oil or oil residue then they will wrobably need to be rebuilt. ore you could try to do a custom AWD set up. try to utilize everything off of the car that you can.

hopefully this will help you out a little

just for a shop to rebuild it will be around 300 with labor. if its more than they are trying to jack ya. but you might be able to order the parts to do it yourself threw a turbo shop. my local Mazda Dealer has a parts guy thats an moron, and he couldent find it. but i know you can get it. its just finding a compedent parts guy.

The turbo rebuild kit is about 130$. 300 is a good price as long as it include balancing.

Why is the guy selling the car so cheap.. 500$ is a low price for one of those cars.
