shifter bolt fell out! need help!

Alright, so my shifter got real mushy like 2 weeks ago and I figured it was the bushings. So as I'm waiting for those Bronzoil beauties to arrive in the mail, my shifter just goes crap. It won't shift at all. I look under the car and the shifter to linkage bolt is gone. Fortunately, I was in first when it happened and right around the corner from my house. Everything else is there, I just need to know what size and kind of bolt goes where the shifter meets the linkage. Thanks ya'll!

trust me u wont find a bolt cause its metric so do what i did and go to the dealership and buy a new one its only like 5bucks and they give u a new nut and bolt

so what size is the bolt? ya never know, I might have one layin' around

14mm and its like 2 1/2-3inchs long

The dealer is your only option it is a special shoulder bolt with a stepped shoulder one side of the shift rod is 10mm and the other is 8mm. Also the nut is a NAS style self locking nut to prevent it from falling off. If you try using a bolt with a threaded shank it will eat the shifter bushing and the pivot hole in the shifter rod meaning the replacement of both in a couple months. In the long run it is not worth trying to save a buck or two now and spending $50 later replacing parts that didn't need to be replaced in the first place.

Make sure you use threadloc (you can buy a small tube for like 50 cents at any hardware store) that will help prevent it from coming apart
