Progress on the $100 Mx-3 UPDATE

Post by Mx3Mazda420 »

Hey everyone. This is my red mx-3 that i bought for $100. With a little motor work she will be back up and running. http://www.geocities.com/kraman245/My_Red_Mx3.html
----------------------------------------------- --
Its the 1.6 DOHC. It ran and drove when i bought it, thats until i started taking the motor apart. I got the head off and im starting to take the oil pan off today. Im still not sure why its not running, I thought at first that one of the pistons might be cracked but when i got the head off they seemed fine, :p ALSO How are you supppose to get the camshaft out, does the blow split somwhere? im a newbie so im just learing as i go along...... ..

who ever told you that the 95 protege in the junk yard had a 1.6L didn't know what they were talking about.. i have a pro 95 only comes in two models in the states.... DX/LX with a 1.5L or SE with a 1.8L ... lastly since its a 95 is uses OBDII and the mx3 needs an OBDI engine look for an early 90's escort/protege engine 1.8L DOHC

How bout this guys. I got my 92 RS with 84k miles in perfect running order for $832 US. :D Although it was extremely dirty inside, but nothing a good cleaning didn't take care of. :2thumbsup:
