Need someone who really knows about engines!!!

Post by roninx1 »

:crying: Alright, I think I melted my engine, or something like it, last night my radiator broke while speeding on the express way, and the car over heated, I didn;t stop, cuz I thought I was gonna be able to get home, but I wasn;t able to make it, just when I was about to get out at the exit, the car just turned off, and today when I tryed to atart it, it didn't start, it made the sound as if it was gonna, but it didn;t, so I probably melted the engine, I'm gonna take it to a mechanic or somethign later on, but right now I'm gonna go on a engine search all over the place, I need someone who can tell me of a good-bad-*** -killing engine, something that would make my MX-3 get back to life and runing like the wind again I have a:

'92 mazda MX-3 1.6 L 4 Cyl.

I'm looking for an angine that will make it go faster and gain more HP. :2thumbsup:

HI! It'me again.
I've been on the net searching for engines and found 2 that I don;t know might work, if someone know about engines tell me if my car ('92 Mazda MX-3 1.6L 4 Cyl.)would handle this:

Engine: V6 ( KL-DE / KL-ZE )
Displacement: 2.5L
Years: 1992 - 2001
Cars: MX-3, MX-6, 626, Millenia, Ford Probe

Or, should I go for this one:

Engine: I4 ( BP / BPT / BPZE )
Displacement: 1.6L-1.8L
Years: 1985 - 1998
Cars: 323, Protege, Miata, MX-3, Ford Escort

the BPT would be easier due to the fact its still a 4 cyl. the KLZE would be more costly due to the fact of moving engine mounts and the such. either check the 4cyl FAQ or V6FAQ section or do a search on both on here. i know that there are numerouse threads on both those engines and which is better for which car, which is more costly, what will be needed and the such.

your easiest with some decent go would be a BP from a Protege LX, 1.8L inline 4, DOHC, 130 HP and turbo it later, there is a guy on here that has done it, you should talk to him
93 MX-3 GS (collecting parts for Eunos Presso conversion), 94 626 Transmission (4.10 gears), KL31 camed KL-ZE, Millenia intake, Millenia TB, SSAutochrome V2 headers, Magnaflow cat, 2 1/4 in pipe, Top Speed Pro 1 muffler, 9lb Fidanza Flywheel, ACT clutch, Corksport SS clutch line, Corksport SS brake lines, Unorthadox UDP, 255 lph fuel pump, HEI mod, ghetto-charger intake, KL36 ECU, SRD transverse crossmember bushings, SRD shifter extention bushing, SRD crossmember, Corksport bronzoil shifter bushings, Brembo Crossdrilled and Slotted rotors, 15 inch Konig Heliums, ZX-2 S/R struts, Eibach lowering springs, OEM front strut bar, Ebay rear strut bar, BFGoodrich G-Force T/A KDWs

Parts needing installed: turbo kit from BB (if i ever get it), 9.0:1 CR Diamond pistons, 4340 forged H beam rods, C/J-Spec spoiler, Nissan red tops in KL rails

Hi again, well as I tought I really melted the engine!!!!! :crying:
Well It doesn't hurt that much now, it will when I get to repair it which is some day soon, but well I've been searching and I found this one, is lke the one u guys said, but is 210HP, I think it has turbo integrated already.

This is the one, but I don't know if I would need the new ECU, wiring and anything else:

1.8L T4cyl (BPturbo) w/approx 210 HP (from GTR)

Oh! I forgot! What's a 20B Turbo Rotary engine??? It's reaaaaaaaaally Expensive......

Something tells me you shouldn't be doing a swap on your own... with terms like "melted" and not knowing what a rotary engine is. Sorry if I was a bit harsh, I might be wrong, but in my opinion, you need a real mechanic.

I'm not gonna do it Myself man, that's the worst mistake I could ever ever ever ever make, I just want to know stuff, just so that I'm not like a dumb *** when they begin doing the sawping (by a real mechanic). and also I want to try to invest my money wisely, cuz if I'm going to put so much effort and money into that car (which I love) I want it to be really worth it, if u know what I mean, cuz I want it to be fast, really fast cuz in the club I'm at here in south florida, they have real bullets man, and I'm doing all of ths behind their backs, to surprise them and make 'em eat my dust, That's why I ask here, to know, cuz if not you guys, who else would help me with out ripping me off?? Well I hope I enphasized my point here :D
Well that said if someone has the definitions or specs of those engines PLEASE!!! tell me!
Thanks
