Drive Shaft Rip Off

Post by Muzdog »

I have just been quoted by Lynch Imports (Mazda Dealer) in Daytona Beach, FL $981.10 for replacing both front drive shafts!

Is it me or is this unbelievably expensive? I expected around $500 and have researched on this forum and found some of you having it done for less than $250!

Any suggestions?

buy them from autozone, lifetime warranty, and do it yourself.
Fast imports only come on two wheels.

You made an error in your post. You put "Mazda dealer" and "unbelievably expensive" in seperate sentences... :D

I agree with going to Autozone. I got both axles for less than $140 total and had them in, in just a few hours. The passenger side didnt want to click IN, and the driver side didnt want to come OUT, but other than that it is a pretty painless operation.
