Just an idea

Post by FlyingMXer »

I saw that the new mazda 3's are going to have either a 2.0 or 2.3 4-cly. in them and thought about trying to find out if it would be possible to do a swap into a 4-cly. mx-3. The article I read said the 3 is supposed to replace the protege so I dont know if it would even work due to space issues. I haven't really looked that much into it yet, just a thought. Anyone have any idea?

Hi, my dad works for a Mazda dealer and I just got to drive the 3. It is a really nice car but I don't think your swap would work. You might be able to swap the motor if you do the trans too. In the 2.3 the transmission is basically a 6 trans. You could always trade in for a new 3. I still like the 2003 Protege more.

Anything can be done --for enough money--but it depends what your goal is...
With the Maz3, think about sensors andECU vs. MX OBD
