B6 vs. BP
Re: B6 vs. BP
What's the deal with the Ford logo on the Escort GT valve cover? It's still the same BP as in the protege, yes?

Re: B6 vs. BP
keep the bp head, but throw in some bpt cams, beef up the springs and valves, and get the gtx(bpt) manifold unless you go custom.
they are the same motors, so just swap over valve covers.

Fast imports only come on two wheels.

Re: B6 vs. BP
ford...the only company i buy, gm can go to hell, dont even get me started on facts about ford!
build the engine outside of the car...that is what my plans were and still are if i can find another mx. then drop it and make the connections and tweaks. that way you dont have to worry about makin sure the car is ready for you to use...if you dont have a second vehicle that is.

i got a 90 pgt...but wish it was a mx-3 bp-t!

Re: B6 vs. BP
Yeah...My plan was to pick up the BP (from an escortGT - which is why I wanted to make sure there are no other differences in mounts, etc. besides the valve cover - I trust there are no differences in mounts, tranny, flywheel and clutch pattern/size), build it up over the winter with cams, injectors, plumb in a turbo, etc. and organize to install it during my vacation next year (seeing as I just started near the end of the summer, so I'm not eligible to take vacation until then anyway). This also gives me time to get the body in shape and possibly do something about the cooling and fuel management (as I plan to turbo eventually).
BTW...Will the stock MX3 rad do the job with a BP? Also, can I assume that the Ex. Manifold and turbo should be installed after the engine is in?
