exhaust help

Post by mwmorris »

Number one, is it okay to put a new muffler on my car without replacing the rest of the system? Number two, how hard is that to do? Number three, how big is the exhaust pipe itself in inches? Thanks guys.

#1. yes
#2. depends....most aftermarket mufflers are larger diameter inlet than the existing exhaust pipe so an adaptor will have to be fitted.
#3. the OEM exhaust pipe I "think" is approx. 1.8-2"

I think the exhaust pipe is 1 3/4 or 1 5/8 inches..A new muffler would help but a 2.5 inch catback is so much better. Spend the extra money and have a custom catback made. I had custom made and put on for 140$ Us

How does your custom catback sound and how is the peformance affected? Also, what kind of muffler should I consider?
