Wacky Idle? My Solution

Post by jlcg03 »

I have had a idle problem for some time now. My idle speed likes to bounce between 700rpms & 1300 rpms. So I started reading everything I could to soulve this problem and weeks later still bouncing. So I took it into my own hands and found the solution. OS2 sensor get a new one to start with this help and regains lost power, Then on the side of your ISC Valve(throttle body mount) there is a thing called a throttle position sensor. WOW! so I loosend the screws and moved it a little and it changed my idle speed without even messing with the air adjustment screw. So I thought bad sensor bought a new one PERFECT IDLE NOW 700RPMS. My problem solved.
I hope this helps you guys who have been looking for a solution. :2thumbsup:

i know that O2 sensors can be kind of high $$ (i think like 70-80 dollars at Autozone) but how much did the sensor take out of your pocket?

The o2 sensor was $75.00 and the throttle postion sensor was almost $55.00. A little steep but hey it was worth it.
