Prossible brake problem

Post by Brainless »

My car has been doing this for a few days. When I accelerate, the brake light from the dash lights up. Does that mean I need new brakes?

check your brake fluid resovoir...if the fluid level gets too low, the warning light will come on...

id say it was ur brake fluid also. it might be low but not to the point where its really really bad just to where when u accelerate it rocks the fluid backwards and lights it up. its located on driver side right in front of firewall. just go down to autozone and pick up some fluid and if it still does it u might have to take ur ebrake casing and check the wired they might be grounding themselves and causeing the light to come on
i shall drop and rx-7 twin turbo in my 93 4 banger

Call around and find a place that does free brake inspections and get your brakes looked at..
The light comes on when the fluid is low, I had that problem when i had a leak in the system i would tkae hard turns and it would come on.
Really its timed so the light comes on when enough fluid is in the calipers instead of the resivor to indicate that most of the pad is gone.. either way get it checked out.
