I found a Frod Escort GT!!!

Post by Jowga28 »

I Found a 91 manual Ford Escort Gt for sale and I know I can use the tranny but I was wondering if I would be able to use the other parts on the car for my manual conversion on my 1992 SOHC mx-3 or would I have to get mx-3 parts?

you can use the tranny, axles, and head. some would say to use the block but the 91 had small journals and a different oil pump setup or something to that effect.
Fast imports only come on two wheels.

the escort GT is basically teh same as your mx3 in terms of the chassis and drivetrain part locations. <p>The entire shift linkage, tranny, crossmember, engine mounts, and all that stuff will be a direct swap.

you'd need the drivers side tranny mount bracket.

The wiring is fairly easy.. The harnesses are fairly similar and should run along the same paths.. they did for my swap.
