NEW SOHC INTAKE!!

Post by atlantamx3 »

Hey Everyone,
I know a few of you guys bought the "BOMZ Racing" intake made for the Protege and fit it to your MX.
Well, i did to, but I have the MAF sensor and I didnt like the way that Tristan or "Mazdasport" mounted his.
Anyway, I got mine off of ebay, the same brand, but I mounted it a bit different and I Love it.
I DID notice a bit of a difference on the "Seat of the pant" dyno, but really only in the upper RPMS.
Here are the pics:
http://www.geocities.com/atlantamx3/perry/intake
I will upload more later!
Also- this was not a direct bol on-- We had to cut one of the pipes to get it to fit-- but it look F-ing awesome.

:D

Thanks for the props bro -- just kiddin. I like the way that you have yours set up better too.. Did you have to cut some of the piping, or did you just put it straight in there?

Hey bro--
I hope you know I meant nothing bad about yours-- but this was the style I was wanting. ( I couldn't do mine like yours anyway, I have an Automatic w/ no room for the filter!
yeah, We had to move the Coolant Overflow tank to that hole between the fender and the front bumper for this thing to fit!
Also we cut the long (straight) end of the pipe with the nipple on it.
And dont even ask how we got the Air Bypass tube to fit.... I still need to get that part that you are using. Brian made some adapter after we ripped up a PCV valve! It works for now, but I would like to replace it ASAP with the right part.

I know man -- I was kidding... yeah I used a PCV elbow, it works well but I had rto bore the hole out a little bit. Which kit did you buy -- is it the same one as I got just a different finish?
