Pricing?

Post by bigluke »

I got a guy who said hell put in an engine and tranny for $650 usd. Now what i need to know, what engines i have to choose from, where can i find them, and how much, and same for transmision. I was thinking of buying an engine and instead of using all the stock stuff, loading it up with some nice stuff. Keep in mind i do have the 4 cyl model :( . This engine that i want must be able to handle a turbo. I have $7,000 to spend. I have the 92.
Dont let anyone tell u u cant run subs off of your head unit,(temporarily that is) all u need is a big box :) <p>-Luke

since you have a 92, keep your stock tranny for now and drop in a b6t. spend the other money on a stand-alone engine management system.

7k?? id go with a 94 protege lx 1.8 DOHC BPD engine. Grab a gtx turbo manifold off corksport, bolt it on, grab there IHI converted t3 hybrid turbo, which can push 320hp. Get a couple lx trannies ;) . Haltek e6k stand alone engine managment, HUGE FMIC, 550cc injectors, and set it for 25 psi ;) ....throw some forged pistons and metal head gasket while your at it haha...but thats just what I would do..

get a BPT from corksport. a tranny from a protege 1.8L. you will need the flywheel driveshafts, and clutch from the protege too. get the wiring harness and ecu from corksport too. you will have plenty of $$$ left over to spend.

Change of plans, :( I let my friend take my car out, he burnt the clutch. Now my car is in the shop $620 parts, labor, towing. Now that i have a new clutch is there an engine worth buying that would work with the original 1.6L tranny?
