Burning smell from under the car

Hey guys, I noticed earlier this week that were was a burning smell coming from underneath my car. I got out and looked and a saw a little puff and whitish smoke coming from the area around the cat, or right around the drivers side, but towards the center of the car. I havent seen the smoke since that day, which was like Tues. But there is still a burning smell when I drive for about 10 mins or more. What can this be? Thanks a lot guys. The smell is kinda like burning paper...hard to describe though.

There may be something stuck to your cat an it's cooking while your drive. Saw this when i was working in a toyota dealer a cat got stuck between the front pipe and the engine. The lady was complaining of a strange smell in the car. Him glad i wasn't the one working on her car.

Thats pretty sick. Hehehe. Its not a burning rotten smell, just a paper burning smell. I'll jack the car up and check it out though. Thanks.
