what is the right gear

ok to all the automatic owners out here or any one that can answer me. what is the correct gear supposed to be when you are going up a steep hill. is it S or L? thanks

D seems to work for me j/k<BR>um I dont know you could check in your owners manuel it has all the information on L and S and when you should use them.<BR>I only use them when im driving in snow and ice so that the transmission does the braking

L is for low speed incline S is for high speed incline. Use L if you have someone in front of you and your speed is varying instead of increasing. S is for when your wide open and can more freely increase speed on the incline
