update: new 323 tranny

Post by marshmallow15 »

hey guys. i just got my new tranny put in rather than a transmission rebuild. my dad got a transmission from a 323 (im pretty sure its not from the gtx model...i wish...if only it'd fit) and i guess it fit because my mechanic was able to put it in and it was ready after 2 days. my question is how many hp does the 323 tranny transfer to the ground? im asking because it doesnt feel like my usual 93 hp....yea i know its an rs but it feels slower than it usually is. plus, does the tranny make exhaust sound different? mine sounds a little different for some reason.

tranny has nothing to do with horsepowr or the sound of your exhaust....

323 has 13" rims so check the final drive ratio on the trans. identification label. its between the top two mounting bolts.

I believe you may possibly have longer gearing now.
