my mx3 vs. cop car

Post by marshmallow15 »

ok i was just hanging around some friends around our usual drift club area (which is one of the newest targeted spots by the cops down here in southercali) and we were just chilling outside listening to music and talking. then a cop creeps by and sees all these tire marks and decides to put its lights on, come near us, and plays it's siren once.
well were like screw this well get bad driving records if we stick around (our engines were a little warm from driving on the freeway after a party), and we assumed that the cop would harass us about our cars and engines being warm and these tire marks on the ground everywhere (it was a drift club spot).
well anyway all of us just gun it and split up....it was every man for themselves. it was a good thing that there were neighborhoods nearby because i wanted to get away because my mx3 is currently ticket-ready for 13 different reasons in interior and engine....well anyway it was 9 of us and we all splitted up. the cop decided to follow me! damn. so anyway he was like 9 car lengths behind me because i got a headstart and i guess he decided to follow someone else for a while. he starts getting closer, but i turn into a nearby neighborhood, ebrake to a stop at the side, shut off my engine and turned off my lights and i saw him just creep by. very freaky stuff.
i dont recommend anyone breaking the law like this. its stupid, but from the tickets he could've given me i could've never driven ever again.

It sounds like to me that you are somewhat proud of this otherwise you probably wouldn't be posting about it.
Running away from the police is stupid whether it is just you or 9 other cars it doesn't matter, if he targeted you then you should have just stopped and faced the music.
Just because he could possibly give you tickets for a lot of things doesn't mean he will. The police have a lot of discretion over that and if you are an as*hole then they would stick it to you but if you are polite and just play things cool as long as your license and insurance is fine they would probably let you go without
any tickets.
I would never even think of running from the cops in any circumstance. I have been pulled over enough times that I know there is little they can do and even if they do give you a ticket just take it to court and stick it to them.
It is never worth running away from the cops and potentially causing an accident or running someone over.

There is not one car on this planet that's faster then a radio wave so "out running cops" is useless. I knew a guy who had a 750cc Ninja and decided not to stop for a cop. Well 6kms down the road there was a 3 cop car road block around a curve. He probably didn't see those cars until it was too late but all I know is that he hit that cop car at 120mph and die on the stop.
People should know the second that cop turns it's sirens on, games over.

I find it soo stupid watching those guys on those shows(world's scariest police chases..etc..) running from the cops...they make themselves look like such as*holes! hahah, they always get caught!
Andrew brings up a good point, what would u do if u killed someone else while trying to save ur own a--??
i don't think i could live with my self, i would pay the damn ticket rather than kill or injure someone cuz of my own selfishness...next time bro, just stop,
later, just my opinion, later :D

Don't worry marshmallow, I always bounce on the cops but I live in NYC so theres plenty of places to hide and mad alleys to go down. Running doesnt make you an as*hole like these people say. ;) Just my opinion of course.

ok, running from the cops when ur alone is gay. now lets say ur in a group of 10 or so cars and you are not just chilling, like what happend to me, and the decide to have a raid on ur races. well, the two racers pull over immeadiatly but all the others run away. s--- man do you want a ticket. hell no. now i agree you cant out run the radio wave but when ur in a large group and its not a planned bust, then run. or do what we did and have a scanner with the cops frequencies programed, gonna run ya around 300 bucks tops. now if ur alone, pull ova, youre not gonna get away. i watched kids run and the only think i saw actually get away was a yhamaha(cant remember how to spell it) R-1 and thats cuz the kid got off as soon as the cop was far gone and he hid in a garage. well anyways, interesting story, keep it real and safe. peace
i got a 90 pgt...but wish it was a mx-3 bp-t!

yea if i was alone, i wouldve faced the music, but since it was a group and we could've been blamed for wreckless driving because it happened to me and two other friends before....same story our engines were warm from driving on the freeway and some of us just pulled over to a parking lot to rest and the parking lot has tire marks everywhere. i just thought the same could've happened again and since there were 10 people, i just took off.

Yeah, not to run in groups is just stupid. When I goto the street racing events there are allwayz 3 or 4 people with scanners (Not just one like in those hollywood flicks) and stuff, but that doesnt allwayz mean we know when they are coming. They know we have scanners, so they are no communicating with Cellphone and stuff. Theres only one guy with an old scanner that runs on the higher cell freqs and the newer cell phones you cant pick up at all. So we are allwayz getting busted and people running. When it comes to loitering though, I dont know what kinda judge you have up there, but unless they can PROVE you made those tire marks then they cant ticket you. A warm engine proves nothing. I never run when loitering. Theres usally 4 or 5 cars there all with decked out mods and the cops know us. They just tell us to move along, and the only time we get tickets is when they are rookies trying to show off, or if some stupid cruiser decides to be all bad.

If you are watching the races with other people and then the cops come in to bust it, it's ok to drive off and leave because the Cops haven't targetted anyone specificily yet and if they have then they are probably trying to get the last 2 or 3 people who actually raced.
If you are in a group of people that is all leaving in this case then that's fine. However if the cop decides to pick you out and target YOU out of the group to pull over then you have to stop. Call it bad luck or or the opposite of winning the lottery but you have to pull over whether there is 10 cars around you or not. If they don't target your car then consider yourself lucky and move on.
