Re: Exhaust
where did you have it done for 275 canadian?, and also, do you have a picture of that wing on your car?
Re: Exhaust
I've got a custom built cat-back on mine. Cost $580 USD tho.
Hi-flow 2.5" cat. Twin tip (looks almost like stock, just better!) Magnaflow stainless steel muffler. 2" nickel/steel pipe.
My only regret was leaving out the resonator. The Magnaflow sounds sweet, not like the typical fart-can slip ons the Hon-duh geeks are so proud of. But man-o-man is it LOUD. When I'm accelerating hard & at high speeds it's like flying in a Cesna. Get old real fast. :p

Re: Exhaust
Im sorry Freq2002, but you got ripped off. I have magnaflow muffler and custom 2.25" catback piping all for like $250USD.
[ August 01, 2002: Message edited by: Tman ]

Re: Exhaust
YEs I agree, I paid 230 for my exhaust. I removed the resonator (big mistake) and had 2.25" pipping put in. I later added an inline baffled muffler to make it quiet.

Re: Exhaust
Is there such thing as a high flow resonator or performance resonator?
Oh yeah, definately leave the resonator on.
My dream for the exhaust system is get a high flow cat, stainless steel 2.25" piping all mandrill bent from the cat back, resonator, and a nice Ractive muffler.

Re: Exhaust
how do you guys get your exhaust systems so cheap?
Re: Exhaust
A muffler is like 100-150, so the piping which is pretty easy for a shop is usually around $100

Re: Exhaust
you paid almost 250 for a muffler, to be honest I think you were ripped off. A muffler usually goes between 100-150 bucks. I have a friend that owned a shop and I got mine $5 over cost. Is it $235 CDN?
Re: Exhaust
Also I speak only in USD

I was quoted over $800 at 2 other shops that used lower quality materials.
The mirror look muffler I have goes for $200, I paid $230, not complainin.
The cat is 100.
The pipe cost me around 100. THICK walled nickel bonded high carbon steel pipe, coated inside & out. basicaly 1 step down from ceramic. It's heavy as hell, but it'll last for years longer than average mild steel pipe.
Then there was the labor. minimum charge is $100 at the shop I was at. They knocked off the old sytem, tag teamed the new one in under 30 minutes.
I was happy, & the quality was outstanding. Call me anal, but I personaly inspect each & every mod that gets done to my car.
I found that it knocked on my rear axle under acceleration, they fixed it free in under 10 minutes.
I'm not rich, but I'd rather pay more for quality than less for, well, less.
