I'd say if you want it to look better lower it and get a nice set of tokico's or kyb's....then maybe a strut bar and short shifter and intake...maybe exhaust if you can afford it maybe rims.....it's all in how much $$$ you wanna spend but I'd get it lowered....and intake, strut bar and shifters's are real cheap..

*the statements posted here are stricly the opinion of me & are not meant to be taken as the be all end all"
Dont look at paint until AFTER you've gotten all the external body work you want. Since you want to make a few changes, it's got to wait.
There are a few nice nose pieces that bolt right on & wont mess up your clearance. My fav is the stock Alteza nose, gonna try & get one next trip to Japan.
Side skirts, well, not to many of the available kits for the MX-3 dont look like they were glued on as an after thought, pretty much the same with the rear end. Up to you tho.
The aluminum wing thing is overdone, thats why alot of people dont like em, but the big reason is with the high curved rear of the MX-3, just looks wierd. A surface mount winglet adds an aggressive look w/o lookin like an escapee from an bad sci-fi movie.
Rims, definately a good way to make a car look better. Lower it, get a set of wheels that will accent the color & trim of the car.
Hope ya find whatya want. Good luck. :D

Well, I don't have alot of money, just alot of credit cards :D , but in other words. Depending on what you are able to spend is what you can do with the car. The Amount of things you can do to a car is ENDLESS. But if you want, I can tell you what I did. What I did first, I wanted my car to look good and sounds good (System and Engine wise) so first I went shopping around for some nice rims, head units, exhausts, intakes, speakers, subs, amps, struts, lowering springs and what not. I ending up getting these items:
Tokico Gas Struts, 1.25" Lowering springs, White Motegi MR7 16x7 Rims with low profile Falken Tires, K&N Intake(Now I have an Apexi Super flo) with a Custom cool air intake pipe(make sure it's mandrel bent, or else the ripples will cause turbulence), Custom Made Cat Back exhaust with a Remus twin tip Muffler, I got a Kenwood eXelon Deck, Infinity 5.25" Speakers, 3 Sets of Infinity Tweeters, Two JL Audio W3 12" Subs being pushed by an Orion 1000Watt 2 way amp.
That's pretty much what I first did to the car, Now I got a Turbo, cams and what not, I'm not gonna list it all cause it would take to long haha, but if you wanna know the full stats of my car just e-mail me and I'll e-mail them back to ya', but with just those mods my car was looking really good, it sounded nice inside and out. So Sexy "Beautiful" it all depends on what you're willing to do.
