36 celcius in Toronto, car acting weird!!!!

Post by tinkertank »

Get this!
When it's really hot outside.
Out of first and second gear ( I have a 5-speed)...
I get a weird grinding noise... Like my clutch is slipping, but it only happens in the middle of the day when the car has been baking in the sun all day...
It doesn't go all the way through the gears, just first and second. And, it doesn't happen all of the time. Any one else experience this?
Thanks in advance,
Martin
'92 MX-3 4cyl. 5-speed

I checked the fans and the coolant. They are operational and full, respectively. It's more like a grinding noise. Like the gear isn't fully engaged. I'm really not sure what it is!
Thanks for your input,
Martin

so does it go crunk when you shift...if so then it's your synchros acting up....maybe you could fix it with just a clutch....maybe your shifting forks are acting up...
