1.8L swap?

Post by ikedogg »

i'm rolling with the sohc 4 banger right now and of course i'm in need for some major hp upgrades... so my question is, for per-dollar value, would it be reasonable to swap in the 1.8L v6 from the gs? or should i just save my swap money for a bpt?

definitely go with the bpt or b6t. for you to do the i4-v6 swap, you would need an mx3 parts car, because you would have to replace pretty much everything from the bumper to the firewall...and the ecu.

Actually that would be for the V6 swap to the KL, not the KL-ZE it would be this much for the L4 to the KL-ZE
323, Protege, Escort, MX-3 (L4)
4300$ CND for the KL-ZE conversion
3800$ CND for the KL conversion

the 2800us for the ze and the 2500us for the kl isn't too bad. but then are you willing to drive the 300 or so mi to a-spec and drop off your car? also, what is your preference? me, i'm a turbo geek. true, the ze puts out about 200hp. the bpt puts out about 180hp. it doesn't take much to get the bpt up to and pass the ze specs. it's all up to personal preference. also, if you do the swap yourself, the bpt swap is extremely simple.

well i don't know too much about turbos, and i have friends in canada so it wouldn't be hard to work something out, but i really like that price for the kl-ze swap. does anyone know how much a-spec would charge me to do a rear drum to disc swap?
