Open ashtray

Until yesterday the ashtray of my car ('92 GS) has been closed and wouldn't open. Yesterday I pulled it out and found that it had been glued shut. I opened and discovered why it had been glued...it won't stay shut now. It will just spring open again. Has anyone had this problem? If you have, what can I do other than reglue it? Thanks.<BR>Steve

the open button on the ashtray holds the lid down. Mine came off and wont stay closed either. if u fix the button it should stay closed.

you just have to put the push button on a good position, put the pivots of the bottom part of the button where the holes are on the metal part of the ashtray and the super glue it with the ashtray open, then when its dry u can close it.
