Stays the same. Unless someone knows a new trick.
I have an MSD SCI ignition with a Blaster Coil and the car still limits at 6500.
I raised the idle speed, advanced timing, played with fuel pressure, headers, exhaust bla bla bla. Nothing affects the 6500 limit.
I used to have a SuperChips ICON Race computer and the car still limited at 6500.
I would love to raise the limit to 7500RPM but that would require a re-programmed ECU.
...unless someone knows a better trick???
RF

mine kicks out at almost 7000 rpms! at 6900 exactly... and i haven't done anything special to the car... intake, 2 1/4 exhaust piping, and a arospeed muffler, splitfire spark plugs.... nothing else...and mine is a 92 soch... and i don't think i'm wrong... i've seen it and felt it.. :)

mine doesnt have one for some reason. i tried to blow up my engine before i took it out to do the swap. the nitrous kicked in and burried the tach. on my auto meter tach it read 8000 rpm. before i got nos i had never heard the limiter either. did some not come with it?

My AutoMeter 8000RPM Tach reads a little differently than the factory tach. That's why I put it in. Because factory tachs are not reliable.
Also, since the addition of the MSD SCI, my dashboard tach starts flipping back and forth when it reaches 5500RPM (yes, I added the MSD adaptor module). The Autometer is hooked into the MSD and therefore a more accurate reading of the a---kicking I give my car on a daily (sometimes hourly) basis...
Still, the damn thing limits at 6500RPM... I am looking into the previous messages regarding the installation of an RX7 ECU. Because if that's the case, then once I set up the RX7 ECU, I can go and get the plug-and-play APEXi ECU unit... hmmm. This get wierder and wierder (and more expensive) each time I open the hood.
my head hurts. none of this will work of course. it never does. i hate mazda and their stupid sohc engines.

i don't see the point in wanting a higher rev limiter, the b6 doesn't make any worthwhile horsepower past 6400 rpms. i wish it did, but youre only risking your engine. sorry to be a hater, but it is a pretty pointless modification... unless you've done some mod's that produce hp up that. in that case, let everyone know what you did! even peak hp on the b6t comes at or near 6000.
dave
