Help with alternator belt problems

Post by jcrewsm »

I had this problem quite often, in fact I went through 4 belts before i figured out the problem was. Every time the belt broke it came out all chewed up so obviously something had to be not turning or pushing on it. Therefore i looked around and found that the timing belt cover had warped and caused the timeing belt to be pushed and therefore chewed up. The fis is actually quite simple, just cut a piece out of the cover. Let me know if this helps or anyone needs any further information.
