CV joints are a real easy thing to do. It' sounds like you are in Auto Tech shop in School is that right? Even if you're not in Auto class instead of paying someone to do it just buy the parts for much less and do it yourself. The one thing you will need to do is torque everything correctly when your finished(should all be in the online shop manual) and make sure you have the car aligned imediately after doing this($50-$70 maybe). Save the money and put it into a system or ground effects...

I've never priced them but who know's you can probably get each side for under $100 (aftermarket)I'm guessing, I've done alot of work to my cars and my families and fiiguring that this is a rare car that's about the ballpark If you need to go with MAZDA they are going to be considerably much more 3x 4x 5x? good luck

Interesting that this should come up, b/c I have to do the same, just my pass. side though. I was told by the clerk at canadian tire (hold your laughter) that it's better to replace the whole driveshaft on that side, since the price for the joint was approx. $135 and the whole driveshaft was only $140. So I guess you'd be at about $280... Not a complex job but it does take time as you need to remove the whole spring/strut assembly, rotor, everything. Good luck!
