My Second MX3!!! 1993 SE!!!

Post by icajewler »

I just bought a 93 GS. Looking at the car in general, the previous owner neglected it to the point of serious rust, although I'm surprised it does run and the only sound so far is the infamous mazda cam gear.
Sorry for the pic quality, my camera is only half as smart as my smart phone.

The very air around me seemed to catch fire and freeze at the same time, that's how I knew he had enough for today.

Got my brakes installed! Finally working calipers. Means I can actually drive it around a little to test the engine out. It was snowing, so I didn't think about the pictures of the rear brakes. srry!

I plan to take it from its poor, broken state of rust and neglect :crying: and restore it to oem as best I can while adding in simple upgrades like the polyurethane bushing kit I'm assembling in the Suspension forum --> viewtopic.php?f=20&t=81496 And of course whatever comes along the way that I decide, whether it be klze or the difficulty of turboing the k8 anything of the sort

Nice, glad you're restoring it, most people here parted theirs out or just trashed them. I like when someone takes care of their car especially little mx-3.

Thanks! I'm trying to turn it into more of a rally build in the end. I'm dirt rally race pro and would love to drift around with the amazing suspension system of the lightweight mx3. I'll post some pics and vid links when I get the k8 on the ground.

And what does this "stake" thing mean! Am I off with the terminology?

Did you replace bad wheel bearings or you did all that work just to paint them?

Ha! You're funny. I got a set of race bearings coming in. I decided that I would protect them from rust while I was taking them all the way apart :D

Painted my hood =] Yes it was done outside and yes I used 97 cent spray paint, but hey, how can you argue against a five dollar paint job that turned out so well IMO?
