Mounting stainless doorplates
Hi Guys,
i have some trouble with my stainless plates. There is no decent way to mount them without them falling out every time i touch them.
I've tried to use tiny screws through the stainless plates holes and mount it in the OEM white holders, but that doesn't provide enough grip.
Who could give me some tips ?

That's the OEM fitment pieces, the screw actually splays open the plastic like a wall plug.

Re: Mounting stainless doorplates
How about double sided tape and then some factory hardware/clips to hold it on the ends.

Re: Mounting stainless doorplates
The factory clips are too small the accept any screws.
Maybe some double sided tabe would help.

Re: Mounting stainless doorplates
I've always used the ones that come with the stock plastic sills. You can buy some stainless screws and they tap right into those but aren't 100% tight.
Marc (or anyone) do you have the part number for those in your pic??

Re: Mounting stainless doorplates
'fraid not. No spares and no part number I actually cut the metal around these on the car they came from (the rotten rusted one) just to make sure they could be removed in tact.

Re: Mounting stainless doorplates
There are OE specific clips designed for the screws. I have the part number at home, they can still be purchased from Mazda. Mine were a nice tight fit. Many autobody paint shops sell similar ones.

Re: Mounting stainless doorplates
Sorry for the delay. Here is the part number. The clips in the pic are from my new ss sides in the box, the part number is for a newer style made from a whiter plastic.
