Compatibilty
We all know the PS2 can play PS1 games.
We all know you can play DVD´s in most bluray players
We also know Escort knuckles/spindles fit the MX3
But what about the CV axles?? Can you use 4CYL escort axles on a V6 MX3?
Does it matter if you order auto or manual CV axles for an MX3?
Can you even use 4CYL MX3 CV axles on a V6 MX3?

Re: Compatibilty
I may be completely wrong here, but I believe it depends on the year... Did the SOHC 4 bangers come with the F series trans, or was the cutoff different?

Re: Compatibilty
both SOHC and DOHC came with F-seriesMrMazda92 wrote:Did the SOHC 4 bangers come with the F series trans, or was the cutoff different?
I'm positive the axle won't swap over when talking about stock mx-3's because the F series diff input spline count is 24 vs 26 for the G-series.
I'm not sure about when a 4cyl is swapped with a g-series tranny since i know the internals are the same but the bell housing is different so i'm pretty sure they won't work as well because the tranny distance to hubs are probably different.

Re: Compatibilty
The auto and mtx diffs are different widths so the length of the axels are different. The Escort and MX share front hubs and tranny's so it's possible that the axel would interchange but I bet that the length is going to be slightly different.

Re: Compatibilty
On my 4cyl I recently used 323 BA 1.8L 94-95(Aussie Model) CV's
combined with V6 323 intermediary shaft which I had resplined on the wheel side from a 28 to a 26 to fit the BA 1.8L 323 CV Hat.
And as I put a 28 Spline LSD in the gearbox, the otherside slots in.
It all fits and works fine HTH![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
In your case you could just use a 1.8 323 94-95 model intermediary shaft perhaps, which would be 26 spline each side?
Hope this explaination wasn't too confusing![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)

Re: Compatibilty
Short answer you shouldn't really... They are a slightly different in length... Its minor so if you had to it might work, but you might also run into problems pulling the inner CV apart...kulluminati777 wrote:But what about the CV axles?? Can you use 4CYL escort axles on a V6 MX3?

it's not much, i've been running a 323 passenger side CV shaft for about 2-3 years now and it's fineNd4SpdSe wrote:Thought the Mx-3 had a wider track?wytbishop wrote:The auto and mtx diffs are different widths so the length of the axels are different.
