insulated thing under the hood
Hey I was just wondering if anyone knows about the insulation thing that is attached to the hood. Mine is kinda ripped in a couple of places and was wondering if it matters whether it's on or not,is it going to affect the paint underneath. Thanks

Re: insulated thing under the hood
Hey man!
Mine fell off last week! hehe. I was showing a friend how the K&N filter fits in in a parking lot and the wind blew it off (it was half ripped).
I think it acts as a heat shield for the hood from the engine. Someone else told me he already took his off, and I'm not bothering to glue mine back on anything.
Anyone else with opinions?

I've had mine off for about 6 months now and haven't had any problems and all it is is a heat sheild to protect the paint on the hood. Little suggestion don't drive for a while then stop and get out and think you can sit on your hood without one. OUCH HOT
