Not sure on the exact price, but i am aware of imoprting from US to Canada, You will have to pay taxes on what you bought the car for or the Book value which ever is more, You will have to pay dutie fee's on the car. And provide a ton of paper work. Receipts, Insurance papers ( saying that you have a vaild insur card). Owner ship of the car. Not sure if there's anything else. but thats a start that i know of, i've looked into it awhile ago. If the cars in good shape and its a good price, its worth it

On a $1000 car it wouldn't be extremely expensive. Taxes and duty on a small purchase like that would be reasonable, but getting it here from places where they don't rust, i.e. Arizona, SoCal, which I assume is why you would want one from down there, is very expensive.

Even if you can drive it home, you have to get there (plane fare?) and drive back (fuel, potential breakdowns...$$$). Unless you have a connection that will drive down and haul it home it's not cheap.

Plus you would need a inspection and have it brought up to your provincial codes and saftey.

No big deal, go to the licencing office and get the paperwork. Shop for cheap airfare or get a Uhaul car dolly and haul it back. Where the fu*k are people's sense of adventure. We found a couple of nice off road bikes and brought them back half way around the world on military transport. Just go for it Dude. :2thumbsup:
