A shop to do the head gaskets is quite expensive but if you can find a place to do it yourself, you could for under a few hundred dollars. Sucks man I am sorry.

If your throttle body was leaking coolant you could have sucked a water in threw the motor and down into the exhuast... Give it some time and take it for a good drive... See if it clears up...

A quick and easy way to figure out if it's a head gasket is to nab a compression and leakdown tester, you'll be able to tell if your coolant is leaking in to your cylinders, and which ones, and it'll let you know if you;ve got any leaks. Most places(at least in Canada) will rent them out.

If you were up this way still, I'd help you get it going quickly. :(

Were you able to tell at all where the coolant came from exactly? Any "gushing" would require a sizable opening. I'd say the O-rings in the coolant neck in the channel between the heads, or maybe the water pump gasket itself?

My internet is being screwy, so I'm browsing the forums on my cell at the moment... I might have missed some information, but I'll lend whatever aid I can.

If you are still in Oregon, or nearby, I may even be able to haul over and take a look in person. I have tools aplenty, and more gaskets than 2 engines could use...

Good luck man, and don't give up!

Thanks everyone for the motivaion. The plans for parting out the car are very high though.......

To take my mind off this head gasket situation I started to fit my RSX lip to the rear bumper. I removed the entire bumper which was a pain and im going to fit it on like that. It will look sweet when its done. The diffrence between my original rear lip and the OEM type S lip is crazy. It just looks bigger because its not cut yet. I just wanted to show the other different details......

So I got the new lip all cut and fit. It fits PERFECT.

My other lip stuck out at the corners but this on is flush. I just have to bondo the ends and the muffler cut out and i am ready to paint and put the bumper back on.

I also totally debadged the rear hatch tomorrow I plan on "shaving" the rear key whole completely. I also took off the "mazdaspeed" off my skirts because im putting a decal on the sides of the wing so I can get that more "authentic" mazdaspeed look

You cut off a bit more then I thought is needed but it's looking good!

Good work all around.

I'm confused, on a fresh ZE swap you did a cruise from California to Washington? Is your temp gauge not working?

Not necessarily a cruise but I was going home. We did the swap in washington and did a few test runs all seemed fine. I was pressed for time because the swap took longer then I thought so I decided to truck home through the night....and not stay another day. I had to make it to class (which I didnt anyway)

The temp gauge works but I notice nothing unusual until I checked how much gas I had and seen the temp was all the way at H. I pulled over and opened the hood and coolant was gushing everywhere out of the overflow. I have had the water pump go out on the K8DE and smoke was coming out the engine bay. I knew immediatly then the car was overheating...this time was different. I had got it towed home and turned it on there and thats when I had seen there was smoke coming out the tailpipe and coolant was gushing out the overflow again after I had topped it off. Cut the car off and check the oil and there was milky thick goo on the underside of the cap. The car wouldnt cut back on after that.

I got on probetalk and a member there named dan[sac] hit me up. I found out he lives in my city (should of known by the name   ) and said he will come over and help me out

I just hope he knows KL's very well.

So since im all about show I have been redoing my RSX rear lip to not think about the heads. Im pretty happy with it but my car needs a respray bad!!!! The car is pretty dirty anyway from the oregon mountains  next year I hope I can get it in a paint booth  I also got rid of the MS plate on my mazdaspeed skirts, put a MS decal on my wing and removed the GS on the fender. I also debadge the entire rear and left my tuned by mazdaspeed plate only I guess to give the car an even more A-Spec touring kit look....
