not turning over

Post by klmx08 »

So Ive got this klde I just swapped and I went to start it and im not getting anything I can hear the pump turn on when I turn the key but I get nothin the wierd part is when I turn the key back to the off postion the horn beeps...Has this happened to anyone else? Just for more info its a 96 626 engine with a 93 k8 harness kl55 ecu from a 94 626/mx6 and and a I changed the disty to a 072 (because the 96 is different) and the vaf is from the same car I got the kl55 off from..Its really weird why would I hear the pump pumping but the engine is not cranking? And why the hell does the horn beep when I shut the key off??

Also I took the disty out and left the plugs plugged in and spun the rotor by hand and it was sparking..

Does nothing = no starter - engine does not turn over?

Troubleshoot connections to the starter especially grounds.

Its funny you say that cause that was the first thing I did today I took the graound plug off and sanded the post pluged it back in and boom runing engine...but still when I turn the key off the horn does beep and before the swap it did not do that..I dont think it had a alarm on it and if that was the case wouldnt it have done it before the swap? :?

Maybe somehow horn contacts are exposed to ignition and when ignition is turned certain way it activates horn?

That nails it down. :P

Sorry man I was going to take a shot in the dark as well but decided to save myself the embarrassment. Question is what receives a signal when the ignition is turned off?
