Re: [FS] 93 MX-3 GS
Don't know how either of those 2 things would cost that much. Unless you can't do the work yourself and have to have a shop do it but if you can it is probably going to cost around maybe 100$ in gaskets and only about 2 days work. The engine swap would be the easy option just pull motor and replace with one and that would only be around maybe 400$. I don't have the time for that though.

Re: [FS] 93 MX-3 GS
Nice car, did you paint the mini sides n mud flaps or just leave them black? theyd look awesome if it all matched, just sayin. and where do you buy a klze thats in good enough shape to just be dropped in for $400? id love to know. i paid 1300 for my motor with just under 22,000kms.
Re: [FS] 93 MX-3 GS
Your on drugs , head gasket sets are a lot more than $100 because you can't just buy that one gasket without the others. Then the head needs to be checked first for defects. You install a bad head and you just wasted time and money. Finally most places would remove the engine to work on the heads (if they're smart) so since it's already out why not replace it with a bigger engine. Additionally I don't see it mentioned that the timing belt was replaced so add that to the price as well.stangant wrote:Don't know how either of those 2 things would cost that much. Re: [FS] 93 MX-3 GS
It may be a different case for the K8 but I got a full gasket set for 139 dollars for my BP05.
Although I do agree that in Stangants case doing an engine swap is probably better, although you guys are all suggesting ZEs when a DE could be sourced for considerably less.
But what the hell do I know, I have a B6 ahahah

Re: [FS] 93 MX-3 GS
when I purchased the car the original owner told us it was replaced, whether or not I believe them is not the case. I agree I would not just do the gaskets, I would change out the engine. I don't have the time and cash to do it so someone can buy this one and do it, it is the perfect candidate. If anyone wants it they can come pic it up right now for 1500$US.

I'am not allowed to cross the border . . You did beat me to those seats . Not by much . The guy could not fit them into his car . You have a nice car .
Re: [FS] 93 MX-3 GS
I'm going to keep my eye on this, I live in Texas and finding a V6 MX-3 is near impossible. And I already have a DD MX-3, so this can be my motor swap MX-3. I like this idea. Probably won't be until mid July, however.
