rough idle and smoking

ok so pulled into drive way heard a small pop and car started running rough and started smoking really bad i have a 93 1.8 164k

Blue smoke, white smoke? How's oil/coolant.

Possibly coolant leak

well i got it back from shop rings are gone grrrr i cant affod a rebuild so im selling my mx3

Don't rebuild! Swap a DE in for ~$500 with a gasket/water/oilpump job... Totally worth it!

Save the money even if your a broke guy you put aside 100 buck a check that 2.5months you got the money... Just hate to c you sell it...

yeah dude dont sell just swap to a de in a few months or swap to a K8 which is dirt cheap just take the bus for awhile....

If you can't afford $500 to fix your car, and you're going to try to sell a car with a blow motor that won't gain ya much, how will you afford a new car? That'll probably be one in pretty bad shape.

I bought a nice condition 96 GS with some MS parts on it for $300 with a blown motor so that should give you some indication what you"ll get for your car. Doing an engine swap is the cheapest way to go for sure.
