That is one of the best conversions I have seen for the mx-3... it still bothers me that it sits so high though... Is there any way to use a shorter arm and/or smaller width wiper to get it to be more of a 180°?

Hey Cheers Evo & Mark! Cant say it bothers me but yeah you could try shortening the actual wiper spindle aswell to gain even more throw but using a shorter blade will mean even less of the screen gets wiped. I still need to either get a straighter arm or staighten mine a little as you usually use the straighter of the two arms which on mine is the drivers side.

Nice work Mr. Custom! Looks great, looks like it gets pretty good coverage, too... I do agree with Moon on how high up it parks itself, but if it doesn't bother you, then that's what matters!
I'm assuming you're going to fabricate a custom wiper cowl, too, then? Fibreglass or something?

Cheers bro! nah no need for custom cowling as I have left the unused spindle in situ just incase I have any problems MOT time with the mono plus you dont really see it anyway as its underneath the back of the bonnet somewhat on the drivers side.

I did however have to modify that little tray that sits over the motor arm as the new longer arm was catching it a little bit of heat and pressed out with the butt end of a screwdriver sorted that. Also anyone thinking of doing this its very important you add the 10mm length in, in exactly the same place as I did on the upper level of the arm.

Then wouldn't you have holes for the wiper arms in the wrong place? And no hole where you need to have a hole?

Sorry bro you've lost me there...

Retro racing go faster stripes in effect.. Not as easy as you think to lay these down!

wasted 10m of it already so will have to get some more to do the other side/try a few other designs.

So the OEM wiper cowl (the peice of black plastic that covers the mechanicals, etc.) would have two holes at the OEM mounting points for the wipers. Unless you've used one of the OEM mounting points for your wiper arm to mount to (You might've done, I just estimated things in the pic), you would have the holes in the cowl in the wrong spot for your wiper arm, and no hole where you need it...? (sorry if I've still lost you! Maybe we're both jusst as confused as eachother haha)

Pinstripe looks great! I rate it looks cool even without a little motif at the end - how it wraps up the tail lights looks great, esp. if you're going for a bit of a retro look with that :D I can imagine how hard it would be to lay down something so thin & sticky on one side... not to mention getting the curve angles right at the rear!! Great work

Ah, sweet! So you'll just use the stock cowl & leave the extra 'hole' there, yeah? That one's pretty well hidden if I remember correctly...

Now using the rear wiper arm of a Ford Mondeo, its alot straighter meaning the wiper doesn't sit as far up the screen.

Also found a great little water bottle I hope will fit under the wiper cowling so will be working
on that as soon as it arrives.
