You must have the most understanding wife/girl friend in the world if you really rebuilt your engine in the "kitchen" Seriously though, nice work.

This is a amazing build Mike.

It also looks like you had some awesome body work done. Like a 3 stage cut polish or something.

That valve cover looks amazing, whoever cleaned that is surely a god.

Keep up the good work!

So the turbo has been rebuilt, bit expensive but they did a really nice job. New
turbine wheel which is a little bigger than the previous one:

Its all balanced and has no shaft play at all. Engine is assembled but now I have
to swap the tranny as the electric speedo gear ring from the mx-3 GS tranny has
fallen in and caused the gears to bind. Oh well new bearing / synchro tranny goes in.

Where did you get your turbo rebuilt? I talked to Alamo and they are about $450 for mine!

Alamo is the only place in the city that does turbochargers. They mostly
do huge trucks. 450 is pretty standard for a rebuild, they do the whole
unit though so its quite worth it if you have any doubt about the health
of your turbo. Warranty too.

Step one: Pull tranny

Step two: Insert Mike

This is the last road block. That's it... I've had enough. She needs to be broken in.

hey you went out and got a engine support! it really helped us to get under the car, looks like it came in handy for you too!

so did the speedo gear do any damage? or are you gonna be able to put your tranny back in without rebuilding it again like you were talking about.

Awesome update, gave me quite a laugh. i would definitely like a ride in your car when you get it all done.....again lol =)

The last update was the most well articulated, comical and awesome post on this site. One of the best uses of rage faces I've ever seen.
