Depends what you are doing with the car.

I have stock 15" rims, but the tire sizes are 215 45 15 in front, a 225 55 15 rear, and the car is still a$$ happy on mid-high speed corner exit. The only time I get understerr is when I get agressive with the gas pedal mid corner... which is a FWD thing and almost unfixable.

Drag racing.. yes... baloons upfront, rubberbands in the back. Roadracing: it's a compromise to try and get a FWD car to act like a RWD car, which means making the car with more front grip then rear, and in a FWD car this gets pretty extreme, so you can counter some of the bad side effects with more tire width in the back. Personally, I think AWD is the answer to MX3 roadracing setups. Too bad Mazda didn't offer a model on this chassis.
