Having (stupidly) taken my MX3 off roading, you'd be surprised by how well they handle. I managed to blow through roads 2WD trucks couldnt make and the only thing that stopped me was getting high centred on some mud.

I followed my Tom Tom when it said to go down a dirt road , driving the lowered car. it bottomed out a lot, and i was glad I had my custom underbody shield in place (AKA Campaign sign).
I'd do it with an incurably rusty Mx-3, but I'd roll the fenders and throw some 14"s and massive tires on it first, after first raising it about an inch.
