Tavman's - 93 White BPT
So after months(bought the car in May and joined the forum in September) of putting it off I have finally been convinced on making a work log! So when I bought my car all the goodies that came with it were: 93 Mx3 with a full body kit(still not sure which one is it??), it was painted about a year before I bought it, the pride and joy of the build... my BPT, it also came with 3 transmission(2 G-series and an F-series), a BPT freshly finished fly wheel, a set of 17 inch rims(they have some paint chips on them), 3 stock rims(2-5 star and the boring stock 15's), a 12'' solo kicker baric square sub(sold it cause not sure of its condition), and a couple boxes of random mx3 parts. Here are some pictures of the car and the parts.

Re: Tavman's - 93 White MX3 BPT
Thanks Savin I knew someone on here would know what it was!!
So since I have bought the car I have been doing little things here and there cause my wife told me I was not allowed to buy anything major for the car till our debt was down to almost nothing... yeah that never happened cause I used to own a Ford truck, so that got alot of money dumped into it(to keep it on the road such a POS). Then when that POS was about to have its timing chain snap I traded it in for my Dodge but in the process of that spent the money that I was going to use to pay off my debt to buy my truck
So the list of small things that I have managed to do to my car since i bought it:
- First I ripped out the power steering rack for a 323 manual one(I had a brand new set of OEM Mazda Mx3 inner tie rods which I was going to give to a buddy who has an Mx but said screw that and used them on my car)
- The next thing I did was change the head liner to fake suede(real suede was too heavy)
So all I used for that was 3M 77 adhesive over top of the stock material(it should hold up I sprayed the hell out of it before sticking it on)
Before
After
Installed
- I am having my buddies mom who is a quiltest look into making me a slip over cover for the visors cause I have no fricken clue what I was going to do with those!!
- So while I had all the piller covers off I painted them black an some interior piece(the previous owner painted them BLUE....... why???)
light all painted up
- Then after I did the head liner next was the door panels
After(dont need an ugly before picture)
Installed(I'm in the process of re-doing the back seat ones cause there were too many wrinkles in them for my liking plus they are a pain in the a$$ to do)
- Next my buddy gave me a FMI so I painted that an mounted it(matte black pain absorbs more heat them bare alluminum)
Stock GTX one and new one
Painted an installed
Installed bumper support(not to much modifying to make it fit behind)

YAY!! Great to finally see/read properly about it!
The interior work you've done looks like it went real well - nice work! Makes me want to attempt the same in my car
Love the raised spoiler, too - that ones my fave spoiler for the MX, I must say. Otherwise, it looks reasonably tidy, looking forward to seeing the future progress

If you take a look at white finish's work log you can see a good angle of the back as he took a fair amount of shots of it.Miguelitto wrote:nice worklog...

And it's great to see you with a work log up now Tavis, now other forum members can bully you to keep working on it ahaha

Re: Tavman's - 93 White MX3 BPT
ethand- I am happy with the interior all except the rear panels, they had way to many wrinkles in it for my liking(a pain to try and get it smooth)
Miguelitto- I will take a couple pictures of my bumper but I have painted mine with alittle black in it!! If you want a good picture of it google "FX Designs VSX bodykit" andys auto sport has a good picture of the back!! But I will throw mine up for you to compare the tweek i did in the paint
Rob- I don't need people to bully me into keep working on it(I would love to dump a crap load of money into it and finish it in a week... more like a couple days!!), money determinds how much I work on it... well how much my wife will let me spend on it is the biggest factor. I want this to be a nice project and not a money pit, so if I spend alittle extra money now and do it right, it will save me in the long run but it will take me that much longer to complete my build(it will be worth the wait in the end). Like the piece of gold that I have sitting in my basement just waiting to be put on this motor hehehe

Nice suede
Good job on the doors! That is the most difficult part, for me at least.

The door panels weren't to bad just the back seat ones are a pain!! I like your leather with the suede insert seats!! Very nice!! I am going to get a buddy of mine to try his hand at the rear panels but if not see how much a shop would charge!

Re: Tavman's - 93 White MX3 BPT
So I decided to post what I did to the rear bumper. The only reason why I did this was because a buddy suggested it to me and i found out the previous owner had removed all the wiring for the lights ie:license plate light, marker. So I painted the middle section of my white bumper black.
and here is a link to a one color bumper
http://www.andysautosport.com/mazda/199 ... 00521.html
I only put it on to see how it looked after I painted it plus I still have to put the wirng in for the lights.. I have some strip LED lighting which I am going to put for my license plate lights since i dont want to cut the top part and put in the crappy stock license plate lights.

The black looks good man.
Took the bp+t out of the mx and swapped it into a 95 escort wagon.

i really like the black section cause the "grill" section normally looks tacky
