I saw something that both excited me and broke my heart...

Post by wytbishop »

Yesterday I was driving home and I passed a beat up Red MX-3...no lip, lots of rust etc. Then I pulled up next to it at a light and had a closer look. SE rims, leather seats, 25th anniversary badges.

I'd seen two other SE's in person in my life before yesterday. One was black and I geeked out for an hour. The first Red SE I've ever seen. Driven to death by some punk who can't look up from his cell phone long enough to even drive it properly. I considered following him to get his number so I could buy it off him some day.

I should have.

A couple of years ago a guy on the forum here posted up looking for help with this MX-3 he bought here in Edmonton and couldn't get it running to get it home from the guy he bought it from so I went over and had a look at it for him.

Black SE...total basket case. The leather had been removed and sold off but stil had the 25th Anniversary stickers and floor mats. The engine had not been taken care of at all. It was also heart breaking. I also passed another Raspberry Metalic SE in a parking lot a year ago or so.

That's it. I've only seen 3 other SE's ever and they've all been wrecks.

So sad.

I only seen one real SE and it was not bad, but the dude wanted too much for it.

Does anyone on the forums have a black or red Canadian SE?

I think...maybe I recall someone on the east coast of the US having a Laguna Blue US spec SE but I've never heard of a Canadian claiming to have another color SE. There must have been over the years but maybe they didn't know they had an SE...

don't know.

I saw one at the junkyards. Everything interior was gone.. but the sad part is that the only reason it was in the junkyard was a failed ATX.. the car was mint other then the rain that had poured into the car from missing door glass :(

I saw one for sale online about a year ago - I think it was on Kijiji for Calgary?

I drooled over the ad for a bit. Then I cried for not having the money to buy it. Then I moped around the house for days and kept looking at the ad obsessively. I would've had a first-born just to give it up for that car  Never seen one before or after and I've never seen one in real life.

And I sure wish that Raspberry colour wasn't just limited to the SE. Love that colour!!
