got the final coat of flat black on the spoiler today!Image

i've decided to spray the spoiler, front gs lip, mazdaspeed side skirts, and front and rear mudflaps flat black with a satin clear as its got a bit of sheen to it plus its added protection for the pieces that get beat on the most(i'm debating my side mirror covers).

the rest of the exterior is just gonna be a moonwax inspired flat black rattle can job, havent decided yet whether its gonna be just a primer job(1 1/2 days) versus a flat black arcrylic laquer base coat non clear coat job(3-4days), times been a major constraint, this summer especially and the three previous weekends i had the oppurtunity it ended up raining. also if i just lay a couple primer coats its 8-12 cans vs. 24-30 cans for a full blown attempt(save me some doough till next summer).

this is my fav write up on flat black. http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/flat-b ... ntjob.html the lines on his car are are a lot easier to spray but it turned out great.

Thx man.

Only problem with not posting pics often enough is you lose the order, my head hurts just watching all the pics jump
Back and forth haha I thought I had my timeline better then that.

For the rims I'm starting to think I should paint my gs wheels, either gunmetal grey or Duplicolor has a Line called metalcast and I was tempted to go the laser blue they have.

So today is to humid to paint, but I have some rust that's gotten pretty heavy, driver side rocker to up under the fender.....looks pretty ugly and may have to patch a piece of sheet metal in.

I'm hoping to just spray heavy with rust inhibiting paint and some fiberglass and address it in the spring.

Family medical issues and life in general are getting the best of me these days, Although my son is starting to get into cars so he's holding tools and helping clean the cars....pretty sweet

i've finished priming it, but i've decided to let the primer have a few days to dry and i'm gonna hit it with john deere blitz black i've seen and heard great things about it. i wanna have an actual flat black or matte black finish not just a primer.
