seatbelt switch
I know it's a dumb question, but where is it located? My search didn't help much. My seatbelt likes to click back and forth when you open the door sometimes, it seems to be worse when the car's wet.

Re: seatbelt switch
since i don't have an auto seatbelt and never even seen one my guess is that it just goes off the door switch which is located a little under where the door latch is on the car

Re: seatbelt switch
or....i was kind of wrong, you can see it here in this picture, its just above the front of the mini side skirt.
obviously you'll want the driver side switch which is located in the same spot

Re: seatbelt switch
I had the cable done last year because it was jammed up. yes, it was done for free on the recall, but my understanding is that the switch is only covered for 12 years, so who knows? I'd just like to fix the switch myself anyway... are they expensive?

Re: seatbelt switch
yup, but i forgot that like muttpower said, there was a recall on the auto seat belts so if you bring it into mazda they will fix it for you, free of charge (or make sure they don't charge you)myfirstmazda wrote:are you talking down in the bottom rear corner?Evo_Spec wrote:or....i was kind of wrong, you can see it here in this picture, its just above the front of the mini side skirt.

Re: seatbelt switch
ok, here's the update: the switch in the corner of the door frame only operates the dome light. the one for the seatbelt is somewhere inside the door, but it's connected to the latch mechanism. I just sprayed some Liquid Wrench in the latch and so far it seems to have cleared up. I decided to attack it today at break time, so it's only been a few hours, but so far, so good. thought I'd post so others could find the info.
Re: seatbelt switch
I know this post is a few months old but will mazda replace anyone free of charge? just got my car and both the seatbelt motors are broken/screwed up.Evo_Spec wrote:yup, but i forgot that like muttpower said, there was a recall on the auto seat belts so if you bring it into mazda they will fix it for you, free of charge (or make sure they don't charge you)myfirstmazda wrote:are you talking down in the bottom rear corner?Evo_Spec wrote:or....i was kind of wrong, you can see it here in this picture, its just above the front of the mini side skirt.
