Clutch worth the buy.

Post by MX-3zoom »

Hello, long time since i've posted. Well Im almost ready to drop the new 2.5 in and was wondering what is a good clutch for a weekend boosted race car. With this being my first car i've built myself, I dont Have experience with outside OEM. So I was wonder what will hold up good. I've been recommened ACT, and that's the only brand i've ever really seen ran through out helping friends build. Thoughts - feedback? Thanks

What's your projected power levels?

I like South Bend clutches, but i have no idea which to recommend without knowing how much power you'll make.

I hear good stories about Southbend.

Personally I drive with ClutchMasters that holds up good too.
I've had an XTD clutch before but that was crap, within 20k km's it was toast.
Just another Mx3 freak :)

hppwdn style:
-exedy 2.5 (mx6/probe) pressure plate
-ACT 6 puck rx7 FC

Holds over 300 no problem, cheap and is pretty light and friendly compared to Spec stage 3 for example.
AZ-3 1498cc Turbo! EVO 8 turbo and manifold, 5 stud swap, SSR Type C, DIYPNP seq Megasquirt

Just tryin to find something asap...Got a meet coming up, gotta keep my promises lol. I'll look into Hppwdn's clutch set up, i've watched youtube a trillion times. awww :P
