Hmmm...Every time I see a car like this one, I have mixed feelings about it.

In one hand, I have a lot of respect for anybody that cares for his/her car like this, no matter what car it is, or what they did to it.

But, on the other hand, I don't like the color (just looks like a metallic turd to me), the engine bay is horribly cluttered (the brake reservoir cocked to the side? Really?), and a rear wing on a FWD car spells idiot like nothing else I've seen.
All in all, big thumbs up for effort. Other than that, seriously...

Am I going crazy or is that car missing its mass air flow sensor?

Personally I am not a fan, but that is the price you live when doing anything to a car. Not everyone, or in some cases anyone, is going to like what you do, but as long as you like it who cares what everyone else thinks.

The wing can be made of solid gold, FWIW. It's still stupid. It's not about being expensive, it's about making sense.

A wing is meant to increase downward pressure on the end it's installed. Rear wings are for RWD cars ONLY.
RICE stand for "Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancement". It's not a matter of opinion. In this case, that rear wing has no purpose on the car, other than to screw up the car's handling (adding downforce to the rear of a car that is naturally understeering as it is), and letting everybody know the car owner doesn't have a clue. Sorry he's your friend. He should learn a little what he's doing.

The VAF is not needed, depending on which engine management system you use (which of course doesn't necessarily mean you're NOT crazy ;)).

Now I have to admit, after seeing under the hood of his, with the straight neck KL and direct port nitrous.....kinda gave me a funny feeling in my happy parts :D At least he's got some go to back up the "show." but the wing is still.....blaaaaaahhh.

And as far as rice goes, it's nothing to be ashamed of...we're all usually guilty of it in one way or another, or at one time or another. Usually!!!! Hell, my car is technically a Ricer, saying as the body mods are mostly complete, and to my liking, yet I still have as of yet to drop the KL into her...gotta wait on that till I move. Hell, I haven't even finished wet sanding and polishing it yet...

Dont be ashamed or offended...it is what it is :D

Just ignorance. People making mods they're not qualified to do.
My guess is he just HAD to have the straight neck IM, so he cocked the brake reservoir to get some extra clearance. Of course he didn't think that, during hard cornering, he can actually get air in the system.

Let's just hope he doesn't get anybody hurt while he finds out the consequences...

I think its sick, and theres nothing wrong with a rear wing on a fwd if you plan on doing more than a straight line, not only that the increased pressure on the rear could help stabilize the car under hard braking. IMO the only thing that would make that better is fastening the wing right to the edges of the body so nothing is lost in flex from the hatch, true race car style!
