I'll say it - I bottom out a lot. Where I work and where my friends live, the roads are crap. I'll come out of a parking lot looking straight down onto the main road, and I'll just hear banging and scraping as I move along.
1) I've been hearing this weird whistling noise, when my radio is off, and my window is open while I'm stepping the gas pedal lightly. Not accelerating, just keeping the car at the same speed.
2) Two weeks ago, along with the whistling, this crazy grinding noise started up. Again, only while lightly stepping on the pedal to keep the same speed. It's worse when there is someone in the passenger's seat. If I take my foot off the pedal, it stops.
3) I went to get my oil changed today at wal-mart (bad times with local shops, I figure wal-mart employees have nothing to gain and would get into s--- if they removed my drivers side break bolt). They come out and tell me they cant do it because my oil pan is bent to hell and the cap is sideways when it should be straight. No leaks and I'm still topped off and everything, just wal-mart wont do anything if your car isnt in perfect condition.
4) when I break and come to a stop, i will hear and feel a click. Pads are in good shape, I've always had trouble with the breaks on this car. I feel like I'm able to push way too far in before they start working, among other things. I had another thread on it a while back.
I think that's it for this forum...I'll have other threads in the appropriate places. I'm looking for suggestions and comments. All help is appreciated.
This is going to be a long read - Situational grinding, etc

Re: This is going to be a long read - Situational grinding,
Please don't make 13 threads of the same thing. 99% of us use the "view new posts" button daily (or many times daily) and its annoying to find so many copies.
You sound like you have suspension issues, strut mounts, strut mount bearings, wheel bearings, possibly CV's.
I am going to make a thread on how to diagnose suspension noise right now.

Re: This is going to be a long read - Situational grinding,
The struts were recently replaced. As was the right front wheel bearing. This was a very specific chain of events/problems so that's why I made the thread. Its not a wheel bearing noise.
Edit - It's the motor mounts
