Mikeinaus's 94 GSZE whats a fair price for my car?

Post by mikeinaus »

Some of you may have been wondering what happened to Solo_Ryders car, and the answer is... I bought it yay!
this is the last picture Jordan took of it before i bought it

my vision for the car is similar to Jordans, first and foremost i plan on keeping it clean. my first major mods to it will be to remove his coil overs and install some H&R springs to raise the ride height and soften it up a tiny bit. down the road i hope to get a mazdaspeed bumper, rear hatch shade, rs raised spoiler and some kind of rear lip. but for now the car is going to stay in its current state for a while. i also plan on doing quite a bit of maintenance over the next 6 months or so. not that the car needs it but i want to get it as close to new as possible.

today was a beautiful day so i took the car on a nice 200km drive up to Squamish and snapped a couple pics to share.

as the car sits the only major problems im having with it is getting it to pass emissions testing. so far ive tried:
new disty cap/rotor
plug wires
smaller oem exhaust
larger 2.25" cat
guaranteed to pass

i didnt completely burn all the guaranteed to pass s--- off before i went for my test which is what im thinking caused me to fail. i have new o2 sensors coming in the mail im hoping will do the trick. if it still fails im going to have to "move" out of the city and register my insurance at a friends place a couple hours away where its not required.

I've done a bit of work to the car in the past few months. With the hours I've been working I'm surprised anything has been finished. Here's some pics of the latest work.

New h&r springs with kyb gr2 struts

Rx8 leather seats modified/installed.

I also made a custom sub box/floor in my spare tire well. It's not 100% finished but its getting close. All that's left is to rewire everything once my parts arrive in the mail.

The paint is in ok shape. There's a lot of little chips/scratches that don't show up in pics. Depending on the cost I might get some dents pulled and touch ups to the paint when I'm in school this winter.

So you really felt a difference between the stock and 2.5" exhaust?

For the E test did you try using Ethanol/methanol gas with 5oz of acetone? Acetone only really works with that blended gas.

when i was running the stock exhaust i had a bad o2 sensor which probably added to the power difference.

as for the e-test i got tired of testing it and had a shop do it for me. im not sure what they did but my CO went down to 0.00% and my hc went down to 0.4% or 0.04% (cant remember)
