I hated these in school haha

Post by Nick F40 »

Well, here goes lol I'm Nick, i'm 20 from Lancaster, Pa. I'm a proud owner of a 93 with a 1.8 :D I had an 85 GTI for my first car that I done up, had 320 thousand odd miles when I bought it, sold it with over 360,000 :D that thing was one of the nicest and best running MKII's i've ever seen. I took care of her. Any questions or specs, please ask :D

I was and still am really into them VW's but I love all cars really. I grew up with a 1960 Bugeye Sprite, my dad's, and around vintage sports cars so I love everything! I had an 80 Corolla for a brief time after I sold the GTI, which is the STUPIDEST thing i've done to date :crying: The Corolla was a......rotted mess to be nicely. Spent months looking for my next car. I have read Grassroots Motorsports for over 11 years and have been going to the forum for the past like 4? I think and I met this one guy on there, who's into Celica's and MX6's and MX3's. I'm a Toyota Celica kind of guy myself too so I found a few nice 5th and 6th gen's but the whole time we were talking about car shopping he said to look at a MX3, you'll be surprised. I honestly never really payed to much attention to these, they are REALLY underrated for sure. He said trust me, go for the 1.8, they have really decent power for the K8 and he said they handle like nothing else! He said his GS handles better than his 93 Celica GT. Since this Celica deal didn't go through, looked for MX3's, looked for a clean one that was decently cheap, well, let's just say I got lucky! Found out the guy that owned it was a friend of my good friend from high school lol 123,000 miles, 5 spd, no rust, runs great, had a lot replaced, he bought it from an older lady from Baltimore, all stock, interior is clean!! I LOVE IT!! (I made sure to only put the europlate on something that was worthy (compared to the GTI), well this certainly is. I spent the third day of owning it detailing the living NUTS out of it! haha I made the wheels go from brown (brake dust and dirt) to silver, still is a little caked on, washed the exterior and shined her up a bit, still needs a good cut/buff and polish, made the headlights go from yellow to clear, and cleaned the interior of all the dirt and dust.

Thanks!! :D I appreciate that

Yeah, I have plans haha already got some goodies for it. I don't plan on doing much to this engine really, mainly going to focus on handling. Just going intake, plugs/wires, and headers if I can find them. I'm getting an exhaust put on the 4th of May, so I guess i'll have to start a build thread

So far just Escort S/R struts with some Megan Racing springs that i'm getting from my buddy on the GRM board, maybe some new bushings, and getting some 16x7 Motegi Racng MR124's. Strut bars, getting a hub adapter for my Momo Helios wheel to fit on this, hopefully getting soon. Mainly now some look good goodies

I don't screw around! It's the rare hatchback model, didn't sell to many haha It's just for fun, I don't take car shows and "scenes" seriously, I do it and I love cars for the fun of it. The Hellaflush and VW scene...yeah I know all about all that nonsense.

Thanks, I said the same!

You can use Egay Probe GT headers, just the ypipe is about 6" longer, so you'll have to put in a short test pipe or have the cat moved back.

Sweet! yeah I still need a cat for Pa inspection, although it's just visual so it'll be hollow

I'll probably do this to a KLZE or the motor out of the Millenia, I forget the letters haha but I was thinking, shoot, why not do it to the 1.8, maybe go ITB's and Megasquirt, although this would be LATER down the road

 yeah I try my best. I like to think that's my best quality, since i'm not the "hottest" dude out there  haha

yeah I plan to autocross it, maybe do a few hillclimbs and stuff like that, use my SCCA membership right  but mainly still keep it daily driver. My GTI had a 90% gutted (except for the front area) interior. No headliner, carpet, or seats in the rear....just strut bar haha Don't get me wrong, I loved that! but i'm keeping my interior in this one, she's fantastic in there! Just going Bride or Corbeau or the like, buckets with 4 points and MAYBE a roll bar deal.

STFU you Kn0b and GTFO!
 Is that more to your liking?

But seriously, if you ever think of hellaflushing the mx-3, I'll have to kill you. I refuse to let that scene affect the mx-3's like it has the J-bodies. :P

PS- Corvette sawblades belong on corvettes, not VW's. Make your comrades give 'em back. Hmph! haha.

Where do you see the sawblades?

 Hellaflush! Learn something everyday. Never heard the name of that trend. Stupid name for a stupid trend.
