Post by projectmx »

does anyone know if the clutch/brake/gas pedals are the same from the different years of mx-3s? i know the dash frames do not bolt in from one car to another but what about the pedals? i need to get pedals to finish my change from auto to manual but need to know if i 94 and newer pedals will bolt into a 93 before i buy them

They don't work. I sold 93SOHC my clutch/brake pedal assemblies off my '94 GS and he had to weld up some little brackets to fit his '93 GS. There might be some pics in his worklog so you could get an idea on what you have to do to make them work.

EDIT: Searched his worklog and there's no pics. He just says he used some square stock and drilled and welded to make the pedals work.

I remember reading somewhere that the pedals from a protege or escort would work and bolt right in. I'm not sure if its true or not, but something to look into.

Ryan, I guess that would be the main difference, My clutch and brake pedal assemblies were two separate assemblies I believe. (its been 2 years, I can't remember, lol)

For my 5spd swap, I used the earlier clutch pedal on my '95. They are different and the earlier ones did come as a combo brake and clutch, but I just used a grinder and cut off the clutch pedal and bolted that up to my firewall. For the brake pedal, I just pulled the pins and swapped the lever part of the pedal. Works fine. :welder:
